A New Shawl Pattern

As many of you know, I knit shawls. For the most part I've been making simple triangle shawls using the yarn over technique to increase.
I bought some new yarn at the brand spankin new Michael's store we got in my town!!! It was ghastly expensive but I wanted to try it out.
I started out using my usual pattern but quickly realized that it was too tight of a pattern for the new yarn. I looked up a new one in my Prayer Shawl companion book that I have. It's for a lacy triangle shawl. It worked much better.
Obviously it's on larger needles and instead of using the yarn over stitch, I did an increase stitch.
I liked it. It made for a larger, looser shawl and was perfect for this yarn.
Here are a couple of pictures.

It's a very funky yarn made up of many different textures.
I think it's kind of cool!

I love it! I clicked on the photos to make them bigger and you can really see how cool the yarn is. Very funky and cute.

It is pretty nifty. Yay for a new Michael's story in your community. I can only hope.

Shawl knitting must be a useful skill in your far Northern home.

Now that looks soft and warm. If I ever got cold feet it's just what I'd want to wrap them with.

Doesn't it attract wolves and polar bears?

Hey, somebody's gotta keep that "Sexy Nonna" tradition going.

Eileen~ Thank you! I REALLY loved using this yarn. I wish I could afford to buy more. :)

Vee~ We are lucky but.. Michael's in town will leave me poor.

Big B~ It tis! ;)

Ang~ I'm so happy that you love yours. :)

G.B~ Yes, you could! I guess you're hairy enough that you wouldn't need it for your body. :)

Thunder~ Not really... just little bear cubs named Massimo from time to time. ;)

Victoria~ Thank you!

Leann~ Thank you! I've been trying to re-teach myself to knit. Next will be crocheting. I haven't done that in about 12 years!

Big B~ Angie will be the sexiest Nonna in town I'm sure! ;)
